Sherrelle Parke

Sherrelle was searching for an opportunity to take a short but meaningful career break and stumbled across Mondo Foundation because of our work in Tanzania. She desperately wanted to see more of Africa, and volunteering with Mondo turned out to be an amazing experience. Sherrelle returned to the UK, but the friends she’d made and the purpose she’d found kept herlink to Tanzania alive; she started raising money to support the teachers, pupils and women she’d visited, such as helping Ilkonerei School to finish building their classrooms, supporting Longido School to develop their unit for blind pupils, and assisting women in Moshi and Arusha to grow their businesses and continue inspiring others to ‘do for self’.

The motivation and resilience of the women I met in Tanzania – including Glory and Erneth who did a brilliant job of escorting me whilst supervising others in their care – all pushed me to do more. I subsequently left my career in local government and now manage social impact research projects across Africa. Thanks Mondo!
