Career Breakers

Volunteering can be a fantastic way for career breakers to step out of their comfort zone and gain new skills and knowledge. There are opportunities for Career Breakers to volunteer to teach and support our education programmes in NE India or Nepal, or to carry out quality impact research for our HIV grants programme in Tanzania or support the operational capacity of the partner organisation.

As a Career Break volunteer you have the opportunity to...
  • Live with a host family for 1-3 months and immerse yourself in the local culture
  • Teach English and other subjects, as needed by the host
  • Support Mondo’s Quality Education Programme by helping staff to evaluate the impact of their work
  • Support our partner organisation in areas of operation, for example helping develop a website marketing and local fundraising programme or sharing management experience
  • Help our local team compile reports on projects and document constructed facilities in use
  • Develop skills and experiences that will strengthen your CV

“Working as a volunteer opened my eyes to the importance of access to a good education for everyone, at any age. The experience challenged me to reassess how I wanted to live and work, and ultimately led me to pursue a new career in the social change sector.” – Amy, career break volunteer, India
