Edward has a long attachment to Nepal since he joined the Brigade of Gurkhas in 1990 and in 2022 he volunteered with Mondo on the Saathi teacher training programme, becoming a Trustee in 2026. He has a wide range of charitable interests, including prisoner rehabilitation and mentoring, promoting mental wellbeing, capacity building within charities and improving educational standards.
