Malati

When Malati’s father died, she was married off at a young age. Fortunately, she managed to convince her new family to allow her to continue attending school for another 2 years to complete the SLC. Now that she has been awarded a scholarship she will be able to continue her studies and hopes to become an English teacher. She also hopes to educate her community about the problems of early marriage and domestic violence. These issues are often ignored by most local people and we hope that Malati can become a strong force for change in these areas.
