Sushila
Sushila is from one poorest villages in the region. Like many from their village, her family scrapes a living from subsistence farming. The local school only taught up to the grade 2. From grade 3 onwards, Sushila had to walk 2 hours every day to school. Amazingly, she still found time to volunteer for a local organisation that seeks to empower women.
Now that she has been awarded a scholarship, she hopes to become a teacher and a social worker in her local community. She has the passion and determination to become a future leader pushing for women’s rights. We believe this small investment now, will bring a long lasting impact to both Sushila and her community.
