Simon Cowley (Chair)

Simon became Chairman in the second half of 2016. He was drawn to the role by the impact he saw that the Foundation had already made to communities, along with the potential to build on these activities and help grow the Foundation even further. He has been particularly impressed by the passion and pro-activity of all the Trustees. He has been heavily involved in the appointment of Stephen Carrick- Davies as the new CEO and whom he believes will help deliver this growth.

Simon has been focussed on the Governance of the Foundation and plays an active role in the Finance Sub-Committee. He plans to visit Nepal and Kalimpong later in 2017.
Simon is based in Sussex. He runs two consultancy businesses as well as a family tea business, having previously worked in investment banking. He has more than 25 years’ experience of working with high profile companies and observing corporate performance and behaviour as a fund manager and corporate broker.
